All componets (except the blue muffler/tail pipe clamp and cradle mount) are polished stainless steel and typical RLV high quality. This complete system is an industry 1st and should really catch on with those quality conscious karters who want nothing but the best for their Yamaha's! So far testing has shown the new system to be very trouble free (no rust or corrosion) and easy to maintain and keep looking like new.
Permanent tooling is being readied at this time and once we get pricing info we'll pass it on. We have a sprint track here in CA called Moran's and they require this rather large (and heavy) silencer and after running there several times we experienced the front header stud wanting to pull out from the weight hanging on it. Anyway, we made a brace that goes from the fuel pump mount boss to the header which counters the loads in that direction and so far everything seems tight and staying in place.

YF200 racing temperature

What is the preferred engine temperature for the YF200 (SR Champ)? Neither has ever been run.

The piston is standard size (202-00) with rings and wrist pin. The rings have been set and are installed on the piston for a standard bore. This piston will sell for half off price.

The block has been honed for clearance for the above piston. It has the head studs and hollow dowel pins installed with loctite, and it has the black sidecover studs installed with loctite. Bare blocks are regular $299, I will sell this one for $285.

I also have 2 engine kits with the header kits that I will sell for $950 each. These kits have the 6259 rod but do not have a billet flywheel. With a purchase of either of these kits, you can add one of our billet flywheels for an additional $150.

You will need to contact me directly here at ARC to get these prices on these items. 800-521-3560

ARC stocks all the parts for this engine, so if there are any other items you would like to add we can do it.

Tom Cole
ARC Racing

YF200 Side Cover Gasket

There is a new side cover gasket available that should greatly reduce if not eliminate any stud breakage. We have kept the bearings changed after every season when we freshened it up. It wasn't slowing down then but we did it so we could see how they were holding up since not many people then were runing F200's then. Changed the oil after ever nite of runnning the thing thru the ringer and we have used the "Burris oil" only in our motor. Trying to use up what we have left.
We have have run this junior 2 any where from 7800 rpm's to 8600 rpm's which is where it loves to live. Pulls like a monster when we run 8600 with no signs of slowing down, we just set the gearing so it doesn't pull any higher. That's why we call it "little nastee".

Changing the rod so we can come to the asphalt race at Vincennes on Oct. 7th. Its got 15* motor mount , stock valve cover , 16 oz oil . The $1000 question is could that be causing my problem ??? How much oil should I use with this angle on the motor. Off the throttle it smokes on the throttle it stops. witch leads me to believe that the oil is backing up in the valve cover and getting sucked past the valve guides when the throttle plate is closed causing a lot of vacume on that side of the plate. pulled the cover off lots of times and I dont see an obstruction in the oil gallery. It was just rerung and I know I didnt skrew up the rings, the motor runs strong ,the fastest thing at the track. Has anyone had a problem like this before???? They are made from premium quality stainless steel forgings and have swirl polished heads and stems for improved flow. Other features include contemporary split keepers and light weight chrome moly retainers. These will be a direct bolt on replacement to the OEM valves and the only machining needed will be to ream and size the valve guide for proper stem clearance. These valves make a very reliable engine even more so, especially for those of you running the YF in sprint racing which requires rpm’s in excess of 8,000. The new valves will be available right after the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Holiday’s. Are you just doing it statically(engine stopped, from a measured/calculated point) and/or using a timing light.. What is the procedure for using a timing light on an industrial engine?

f200 oil rings

Ok, I have been trying to get the oil rings in with the expander ring. The problem is not widespread but it is a problem you do not want to have. If the rod does fail, it usually takes the block, crank and cam with it. Better to be safe than sorry.
http://test.burrisracing.com/support/forum/shwmessage.aspx?ForumID=6&MessageID=19

Installing an ARC#6608Y Flywheel

If you would like my help, please call me.
800-521-3560

Burris Tech Shop

Burris Racing has set up the Tech Shop to keep its customers abreast of the latest updates and FAQ's for the Yamaha YF200 engine (and our other products as well). It got me to wondering so I went home to check on mine. Sure enough, it was gone. And I have no idea how long it has been missing.
This is one of those things like a clutch key, if you watch what you are doing, you probably won't ever need another one.
The O ring does not appear to be "mission critical," but I thought I might be able to helps some others keep from losing theirs.

Boring/Honing

Im gearing up my engine building tools and was wondering what different types/brands of Honing equipment is being used by the pros and home builders.
